Artificial Mentors: Enhancing Latin Learning through AI

Year: In preparation

Funds: 20’000 CHF

Partners: UNIL-Humanities Informatics Department // University of Turin

Context This project seeks to revolutionize the way Latin is learned and taught by integrating artificial intelligence into the learning process. Despite being considered a "dead" language, Latin remains fundamental in the study of history, literature, and the sciences. However, its teaching methods have largely remained traditional and unchanged. The project proposes the development of an AI-driven platform that adapts to individual learning styles, providing personalized lessons, exercises, and feedback. By analyzing data from learners' interactions, the AI can identify patterns and obstacles in the learning process, offering tailored support that accelerates understanding and retention. This initiative aims to make Latin more accessible and engaging for students of all levels, fostering a deeper appreciation of classical culture and its impact on modern society.
